Article 244 – Administration of Scheduled Areas and Tribal Areas
(1) The provisions of this Constitution relating to the administration and control of the Scheduled Areas and Tribal Areas shall be such as Parliament may by law provide.
(2) The President may direct that any particular Act of Parliament shall not apply to a Scheduled Area or a Tribal Area or shall apply thereto with such exceptions and modifications as he may specify.
Article 244A – Creation of an autonomous State comprising certain tribal areas in Assam
Parliament may by law establish within the State of Assam an autonomous State comprising the tribal areas in the districts of Darjeeling, Garo Hills, Khasi Hills, Jaintia Hills, Lushai Hills, and other contiguous tribal areas as specified in such law, and make provision with respect to the government and administration of such autonomous State.
