Article 239 – Administration of Union Territories

The President shall appoint an Administrator for every Union Territory, who shall be the executive head of the territory.

Article 239A – Formation of Legislatures and Councils of Ministers in certain Union Territories

Parliament may, by law, create Legislatures or Councils of Ministers for certain Union Territories and determine their composition and powers.

Article 240 – Power of President to make regulations for certain Union Territories

The President may, by order, make regulations for the peace, progress, and good government of certain Union Territories.

Article 241 – High Courts for Union Territories

The President may provide for the establishment of High Courts for Union Territories and determine their jurisdiction.

Article 242 – Continuance of existing laws in Union Territories

Laws in force in a territory immediately before it became a Union Territory shall continue until altered or repealed by Parliament or the President.
