Article 325 – No person to be ineligible on ground of religion, race, caste or sex
No person shall be ineligible for inclusion in, or to claim to be included in a special electoral roll on the ground of religion, race, caste or sex.
The superintendence, direction and control of the preparation of the electoral rolls for, and the conduct of, elections to Parliament and to the Legislature of every State and of elections to the offices of President and Vice-President shall be vested in the Election Commission.
No person shall be ineligible for inclusion in, or to claim to be included in a special electoral roll on the ground of religion, race, caste or sex.
Subject to the provisions of this Constitution, elections to the House of the People and to the Legislative Assembly of every State shall be on the basis of adult suffrage, that is to say, every citizen of India who is not less than eighteen years of age and who is otherwise not disqualified under the Constitution or any law shall be entitled to vote at elections.
Parliament may by law make provision with respect to all elections to either House of Parliament and to the House or either House of the Legislature of a State, including provisions for all matters relating to the conduct of elections, the preparation of electoral rolls and the eligibility of persons to vote and be elected.
The Legislature of a State may by law make provision with respect to elections to the House or either House of the Legislature of the State, including provisions for all matters relating to the conduct of elections, the preparation of electoral rolls and the eligibility of persons to vote and be elected.
Notwithstanding anything in this Constitution, the validity of any law relating to the delimitation of constituencies or the allotment of seats, or of any order, decision or notification of the Election Commission in relation to elections shall not be called in question in any court.
